A mini story by Martha Cecilia Rivera.

Masha makes her way down the street in a hurry. Today it’s exam day and, if she’s late, the teacher will let not her in the classroom to take it. Masha’s hijab slips. Her bangs are exposed but she ignores it, her hurry is immense. A soldier wearing a dirty turban sees Masha and runs after her in fury. Eventually, he catches up with her and arrests her for a felony. For the regime, if a woman shows her bangs underneath her hijab, it is a very serious offense that challenges authority. However, punishing a young girl by arresting her and beating her to death is not important to the regime at all.
